Global Music

So, I've got a quick post for today.

I know that it can be easy to get trapped by today's popular music, so I wanted to know what 'ethnic' music you like.

So please post below your favorite cultural music.

  1. I like African music quite a bit, with songs like O Sifuni Mungu and Thosoloza coming to mind right away. I also love Latin music, because all of it is sacred music, and it's georgeous singing it. But, I pretty much like any music I may hear, except metal and rap (I don't consider those things to be music, just trash).

  2. ...Hmmm...

Ethnic music doesn't just mean music in a different language, does it >.>

I like Latin music, too, then ^-^ And some traditional Chinese songs are really, really good, too! But I moreso like listening to those when you can see the dances as well. I think a lot of ethnic music isn't the same without having that atmosphere - the sacred Latin music becomes more real when you're in an old church with looming, intricate stained glass and meticulously chiseled architecture, and African music is more lively when there is masks and costumes and painting.
